Trained in the classical traditions of Florence and the restrained modernism of Swedish landscape painting — now painting the Pacific from San Diego.

Emma Altafulla bridges three worlds. Her practice is rooted in the meticulous study of light as taught in the Italian academies, tempered by the melancholic horizons of her Scandinavian training, and reawakened daily by the coastal light of Southern California. She lives, works, and sells from her studio in San Diego — with new pieces released monthly to local collectors and at quarterly online auctions.
